A friend's bulldog. Apparently bulldogs are much more difficult to draw than one would think. This was my 2nd attempt and about 8 hours over all.

The lines are expressive but the background is red, its red!. Lines convey a lot of things when drawing, but the overall design and the relationship between the background makes it distracting. Henry Moore has a really great example of utility of a design he's drawing shows everything flowing together in the piece. http://cl.ly/image/0j242K3n1637 ;i couldn't find the original from 1977 this was the closest.
