Avast!

Avast!

Drawn by Gibbermagash for the Complementary colors challenge.

When you mix colors that are complements you often get either a brown, or a grey. Sometimes a greenish grey, or a violet brown or any other sort of subtlety.
Often times an easy way to balance out the color in a piece is not by adding more colors but removing them. Or by adding grey or brown. They are the colors of stabilization and of warmth. The sky fights the sea, and the rickety brown ship manages to stay intact. The sky fights the sea, and the rickety brown ship manages to stay intact.
