History of Among Us

[Among Us](https://amongusonline.io/) is a multiplayer game developed by InnerSloth, an independent game studio in the United States, consisting of three members: Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Amy Liu. The game was officially released on June 15, 2018, initially only available on Android and iOS. At launch, Among Us did not make a big splash and was almost overshadowed in the then-competitive mobile gaming market. However, the big turning point happened in mid-2020, when the game began to be introduced by famous streamers on Twitch and YouTube such as Sodapoppin, xQc, Disguised Toast, and the OfflineTV group in group livestreams. The popularity spread quickly, causing the number of players to skyrocket from a few hundred to millions per day during the social distancing period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game is especially attractive to players because of its simple gameplay, but full of strategy. Players are divided into two roles: Crewmates and Impostors. Crewmates need to complete missions on ships or space stations, while Impostors sabotage and eliminate them one by one without being detected.
